SUMMARY:Shark Spree: Hybrid Shark Behavior Talk & Live Dissection!
DESCRIPTION:Come on down to the Estuarium OR join us virtually on July 23rd at 11:30am for a talk and live shark dissection with Dr. Amy Cook! Dr. Cook will be joining virtually from the San Juan Islands for the talk and staff will be preforming a live dissection at the Estuarium following. You can join via Zoom, tune into Facebook Live during the event, or even better — come in person!\nDr. Amy Cook is a biologist specializing ecology and vertebrate biology. From Amy: When people hear the phrase “shark behavior”, they often think first of breaching white sharks or cruising hammerheads, but there is way more to the behavior of sharks (and rays) than this. In this presentation, Dr. Amy Cook will describe some of the lesser known behaviors in sharks and rays, including specialized feeding behavior (plant-eating sharks?!) and social interactions (how sharks say “I’m your friend” and “back off, you’re in my space” to each other).\nStandard admission costs apply: $8/family, $5/individuals, $3/youth (18 and under), Free with EB\nAbout Summer Shark Spree\n\nREGISTER VIA ZOOM HERE\n\nThe Estuarium’s Summer Shark Spree is a rotating exhibit featuring the sharks of Puget Sound! Every weekend in July and August, real shark tails and jaws from the WA Department of Fish & Wildlife will be on display at the Estuarium.\nJoin us throughout the month for JAWSOME shark education and activities, arts & crafts, talks by local shark experts and shark dissections!\n\nLEARN MORE ABOUT SUMMER SHARK SPREE\n\n\n\n
