SoundCore Exchange: Poetry Workshops

Express your unique estuary experiences through poems and creative literature under the guidance of professional poets!

Oyster, Osprey, and Orca: with Kathleen Byrd

Join us from 4:30-6:00pm on November 21st at the Puget Sound Estuarium to learn about estuary poetics and then share and write about the more-than-human-world of our home estuary: The Salish Sea. We’ll read estuary-inspired poems, share our own estuary images and stories, and write together. Each participant can expect to leave with a poem draft, a packet of estuary poems, and a deepened connection to our community and to our estuary.

What to Bring?

A pen, a notebook, and your curiosity!

SoundCore Anthology

December 5th, 4:00-5:30pm at the Olympia Timberland Library

All collected poems from these workshops will be compiled into a community-made zine that will be showcased at this free event! We invited participants, their families, and friends to this Anthology celebration.

These free workshops are for anyone interested in the arts to write, read, and learn about the community’s shared care for our beloved environment.
