Give Local 2020: Give Where You Live!

Give Local 2020: Give Where You Live!

What is Give Local?

Give Local is an annual two-week giving campaign, hosted by the Community Foundation of South Puget Sound, designed to raise awareness and support for nonprofits throughout Thurston, Mason, and Lewis Counties. Starting November 9th -20th, you can become a part of this growing movement to change lives by supporting causes close to your heart.

Our Goal

The Salish Sea is facing many threats to health, and it’s more crucial than ever to provide quality education to our local students and community members about this unique estuarine ecosystem and the biodiverse life that call the Salish Sea home. When you donate to the Estuarium you ensure that we can continue to inspire the people of South Sound to connect with and protect estuary life through our outreach and education programs.

Help the Estuarium meet our fundraising goal of $15,000 during Give Local to secure funding for our continued transition to virtual education during the COVID-19 pandemic, purchase PPE for our staff, volunteers and open hours visitors, increase accessibility to the Estuarium by providing translations of our education materials, buy food and tank equipment to keep our animals safe and happy and more!

$15,000

When you give to the Estuarium, you give to all of South Sound!

When you give to one Give Local participating organization, you boost charitable donations for us all!  Every donation made through Give Local is boosted by a Bonus Fund, which increases the value of every dollar. For example, if a nonprofit organization receives 5 percent of the total donations made during Give Local, that same nonprofit receives 5 percent of the $100,000 Bonus Fund (up to $7,500 per organization).

Thanks to the Dawkins Charitable Trust donation matching bonus fund, no participating Give Local organization walks away from the campaign empty handed. A few of the Estuarium’s awesome partners also have campaigns this year. Give where you live and support not just the Estuarium, but also our friends at spsgives.org.
