What is A Community Thrives?
A Community Thrives is a grant-making and crowdfunding program from the USA TODAY NETWORK running from July 18th to August 12th of 2022. The initiative is part of the Gannett Foundation and supports nonprofit organizations with projects focused on community building. Through fundraising challenges and related grant funds, A Community Thrives helps bring our community-improvement ideas to life. Our Goal
The Salish Sea is facing many threats to its health, and it’s more crucial than ever to provide quality education to our local students and community members about this unique estuarine ecosystem and the biodiverse life that call the Salish Sea home. When you donate to the Estuarium you ensure that we can continue to inspire the people of South Sound to connect with and protect estuary life through our outreach and education programs.
Help the Estuarium meet our fundraising goal of $3,000 during A Community Thrives to qualify for grant funding to support our capacity building efforts. Grant funding would allow us to fund our internships for a full year and offer compensation to speakers and scientists that visit the Estuarium to share their expertise.

Your donation gets us closer to potential grant funding!
When you give to our organization through A Community Thrives, your donation contributes to our overall goal of $3,000. If we reach this goal before August 12th our grant application will be considered for additional funding! That means your donation can multiply its impact simply by donating as a part of this campaign before August 12th.
The month-long fundraising campaign also has bonus grants that will be awarded to organizations who reach fundraising goals specific for each week. Keep an eye on our social media so that you can participate in these energizing challenges!
