New Birds of Thurston County Exhibit
Explore our unique estuary environment through the eyes of a bird as a part of the Estuarium’s Celebration of Birds this February. The Estuarium is debuting a brand new permanent exhibit about the birds of Thurston County. This exhibit will introduce you to a number of bird species that either live in the South Sound year-round or call our community home while migrating through from far away lands. February is the best time to visit the Estuarium and see this exhibit because we will be celebrating birds all month long and the exhibit will be enhanced by bird specimens on loan from Slater Museum in Tacoma, WA.
2022 Bird Walks
Bird Walks are back for the 2022 season coinciding with the debut of the new Birds of Thurston County exhibit! February – September we will eye the sky for birds that call South Sound home on the fourth Sunday of every other month. The first Bird Walk of the season will take place on February 27th from 9:00 – 11:00 AM.
