The Estuarium is hiring an Environmental Education and Non-profit Intern. Applications are due by 2/15/2023. This position pays $16.00-$17.00/hour for up to 32 hours per week. The Puget Sound Estuarium is a non-profit, environmental education organization and aquarium located in downtown Olympia, WA. The Estuarium’s mission is to foster learning opportunities that inspire people of all ages to connect with, protect, and enjoy the unique estuary environment of the South Sound and the greater Salish Sea ecosystem.

Environmental Education and Non-profit Internship

Environmental Education and Nonprofit Internship ($16-17/hour, 32 hrs/week): this internship program provides college students and recent graduates with environmental education and aquarium animal husbandry experience, as well as experience with working at a growing non-profit organization. While the majority of the internship will be spent assisting the Education Coordinator and Program Coordinator by providing hands-on field trips to K-12 school groups and all ages groups, leading beach investigations, and delivering marine programs for the community; this position will require staffing the information desk during open hours, and assisting with administrative projects. Current undergrad students can earn up to 8 college credits/quarter and masters students can earn up to 6 credits/quarter.
