What is Give Local?
Give Local is an annual two-week giving campaign, hosted by the Community Foundation of South Puget Sound and designed to raise awareness and support for nonprofits throughout Thurston, Mason, and Lewis Counties. Between November 7th -18th, you can become a part of this fantastic collaborative fundraising effort and support the causes close to your heart.
Our Goal
By donating today you can help us connect people of all ages with the unique estuary environment of the Puget Sound. The Estuarium’s field experiences take youth to local estuaries, beaches, and even a scientific research vessel to study marine habitats of the South Sound. Our K-12 field trips are always done in collaboration with community partners like Capitol Land Trust, Port of Olympia, Chelsea Farms, Tacoma Youth Marine Center, Pacific Education Institute, to name just a few. The Estuarium also provides K-12 educational resources, visiting lessons, and field trips to local schools.

Your donations will support our work as we increase accessibility to the Estuarium, care for our Estuary Animal Ambassadors, and strive to connect people of all ages with the Puget Sound.

This is the best time of year to donate to the Estuarium!
Every donation made through Give Local is boosted by a Bonus Fund, which increases the value of every dollar. For example, if a nonprofit organization receives 5 percent of the total donations made during Give Local, that same nonprofit receives 5 percent of the $100,000 Bonus Fund (up to $7,500 per organization).
Thanks to the Dawkins Charitable Trust donation matching bonus fund, no participating Give Local organization walks away from the campaign empty handed. The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound and their sponsors also cover credit card fees when you donate through their platform, so 100% of every dollar we raise through the Give Local goes directly toward supporting the Estuarium and the programs we run for you!
