Discovery Speaker Series: Tossing Salmon for Student Stewardship
Tune in on March 7th @ 6:30pm on Zoom to learn from Nisqually River Education Project! Tossing salmon doesn’t sound like student stewardship, maybe a cool band name, but these kind of stewardship efforts are just the beginning with this group!
Davy Clark, Program Director at the Nisqually River Education Project, will share about the ways they work to provide students with service learning projects that inspire stewardship of the Nisqually River and beyond. Imagine, as a student, tossing salmon, knowing those nutrients will help support the new trees you just planted. As you grow, those trees will thrive, improving the water quality that you tested and the species diversity that you measured. All of these new experiences, built upon the sharing of Traditional Ecological Knowledge, create a new generation of compassionate leaders. If you’re interested in how the next generation is tossing salmon for a true sense of stewardship, this is a talk you don’t want to miss!
