Shark Spree: Shark Talk & Live Dissection!

Come on down to the Estuarium on August 13th at 11:30AM for a talk and live shark dissection with Dr. Dayv Lowry from NOAA Fisheries!

Despite the bad rap they often receive, sharks are evolutionary marvels and crucial components of marine ecosystems around the world. Dr. Dayv Lowry of NOAA Fisheries will talk to Estuarium guests about what features make a shark a shark; describe some “typical” and truly unique shark adaptations; discuss the ecological, economic, and cultural importance of sharks; and put concerns about human:shark interactions into context. He will also introduce attendees to a dozen shark species that inhabit Washington waters. Following the talk, Dayv will dissect a dogfish shark so guests have a chance to see, first hand, how amazing this local species truly is.

Standard admission costs apply: $8/family, $5/individuals, $3/youth (18 and under), Free with EBT
